installer prints progress dots while waiting on user input

Next, when running the installer now, it seems to print out dots even in cases where it’s waiting for user input. For example:

Do you want to add quickstart subjects to DB (t|f)? [t]: ....

Probably related to GRP-1165. Was that intended?
