Eliminate fixable unit test failures

I've had two different cases in the past month where I have found production bugs, only to discover later that both had unit tests created, and both failed the unit tests.

This task is to first run through all the unit tests and summarize what is failing or creating exceptions. Then, either fix the issues, or adjust the unit tests in cases where the expected output has changed in a valid way.
