i am looking at the changes to get to 2.5.27. in GRP-2749 - the only thing i am changing is the timeout. I set it to 60000 (I have needed to do group uploads of a few hundred thousand entries via WS and needed longer timeouts. Would you consider the passing in of an ENV var (PROXY_TIMEOUT) so an overlay isn’t needed? Simplified config. Maybe other ENV vars as well?

you set the timeout to 60000 seconds which is 16 hours? you need more than 40 minutes (which is what we set it to)?

maybe we need a way to allow you to put in a shell script, which will get executed by grouper when it starts. and in cases like this, you put something in there that sed replaces xxx in file yyy to zzz. then we dont need as many overlays which seem bad to me. but yes, we can add more variables and replaces if things dont make sense. let me know what :slightly_smiling_face: (in this case I would think 40 minutes is ok, but if not lets customize)

so, it turns out what i was doing needed about 50 min. since i didn’t know how long it was going to take - i set it to 60000. but yes, steps like you suggest to reduce overlays would be nice.

a timeout of 3000 vs. 60000 - in the end - i don’t care - as long as people/i can do what i need to do.

i dont think things should timeout if they are doing work... so can i start by bumping up the timeout to 2 hours? :slightly_smiling_face: and i will make it configurable as well. what else do people overlay that needs variables? :slightly_smiling_face:
